I first stumbled upon rookibeauty via their Instagram sometime in May 2019,and I must say I was mesmerised. The minimalist, clean packaging, a local skincare with their products made in Japan?!? Sign me up.

I excitedly went to place my order, I originally wanted to get their full set. As of right now they only carry 3 products (a cleanser,a masque and a moisturiser), but my wallet couldn't handle buying all 3 products, so I settled for 2 products instead.

I purchased their best selling Green Pulp Paste (SGD64) and Honey Match Cleansing Drops (SGD59). You can understand why, I couldn't get their moisturiser (SGD79)- this was one pricey skincare line! When my products arrived, it came with a free sticker pack, a sample of their moisturiser which I have actually used prior to writing this blogpost (which I love) and a company card.

Green Pulp Paste Masque

Honey Matcha Cleansing Drops

Honey Matcha Cleansing Drops contains honey, matccha powder, chia seeds, water activated vitamin c and lactic acid. It claims to cleanse and brighten skin. I've used this product for about a month now, and I have to say it did help with my hyperpigmentation around my mouth area. My pigmentation definitely faded and overall I have a more even skin tone. However for a daily PM, cleanser I would have to say this a little too pricey for me to repurchase. Don't get me wrong, it is good. But I feel like, even though it's gentle- my skin feels a little tight using it as my second cleanse in my double cleanse routine. I feel like like it's more suited for days that you do only a single cleanse- because it is a dual action cleanser. It removes dirts and impurities and then replenishes it with drops of honey,matcha and chia seeds. So for days, where you have just sunscreen on- this is cleanser will save you a step! I'm still on the fence, if I would repurchase this just because on days that I wear makeup I need to double cleanse, this would not be very suitable to use as a makeup remover or as a double cleanser. But if you are someone who doesn't wear makeup, this is definitely for you.

As for the green pulp paste masque, I found my new holy grail. Made with carrots, tomatoes, matcha powder,kale,soybeans and vitamin E- this is a surefire way to get baby smooth skin. Formulated with chlorophyll, this powerful anti-oxidation does preserve youth and hydrates (as it claims). I remember very distinctly playing with my baby cousin's soft cheeks, and that is exactly how my skin feels like after using this masque. This a mask has become a staple in my collection, and the best part is that they offer free worldwide shipping- so if I ever happen to go overseas to study or to work, I know for sure I can get my hands on this! (I know it sounds dramatic but it's that good! And I may be heading to get my degree overseas in a few years time, so you'd never know that free worldwide shipping would come in handy!)

As a whole, rooki is definitely a modern day skincare line. Their products are packed with anti-oxidants and other goodies that prevent premature ageing- which is something I feel that is very prevalent with the amount of pollution going around in the world, and the environment stressors we are constantly exposed to!
